My mom has been at Top of the Hill for four years. Top of the Hill is a blessing and they are our “family” now. Top of the Hill provides excellent medical care including medication regimens, safe exercise, crafts that are fun and satisfying, and activities to help the residents’ minds and memories. The homemade delicious meals and snacks keep appetite and morale up. Any problems with mobility of needing assistance with feeding and bathing are met with love and care. Mom always looks nice and has told me how beautiful Top of the Hill is, and that she is content. She enjoys her friends and staff. Everyday there is laughter and affection around her, encouragement and support! The administrators and staff are always there for the resident’s’ families in every way possible. They are also excellent! Holidays mean wonderful decorations – personalized Christmas stockings, special meals with Easter bunny chocolate, Mother’s Day flowers, Valentine’s Day decorations, and picture collage of your loved ones year. Mom is our most precious gift and we love her cozy home at Top of the hill.
We received a recommendation from a customer of my wife’s. We met with the owners and Mom has been there ever since.
We have been very pleased with the staff and the surroundings. Mom is pleased she is in the country. She is very happy at the Top of the Hill.
I first heard about THM through the internet. I was looking for a place that was close to my home in Street, MD. I found THM and just paid a visit that same day. I did not call to make an appointment. I just went over. They were very nice and did not mind that my wife and I were there. My father was living with me and my wife when he fell and broke his hip. After a time in the hospital, we were told that my father needed full time around the clock attention. This is the reason that we checked out THM. After talking with the owners of THM, we decided to place my dad with them. This decision ended up being the best I could have done for my father. They treated my father like he was one of their own family members. Each time I visited with my father (at least once a week or more) he was bathed and dressed nicely. THM was truly a gift to my family and father. THM staff was always doing something with the people that they cared for. My father lived his last couple of years with THM and for this I will always be grateful for the good years that they gave to him. I would very much recommend THM to any one that is looking for a home for their loved one. In this day and age, it is hard to place your loved one in the hands of someone else other than family, but you can truly trust the owners and the staff at THM.
After my mom fell and fractured her ankle at her apartment, she was admitted to the hospital for surgery. Mom went from the hospital to a rehab facility. After nine weeks, physical therapist advised us Mom could never be left alone. She ambulated with a walker, and was becoming more confused. The rehab facility social worker mentioned Top of the Hill Manor. On initial visitation, Benny, Maria and staff were warm and friendly. Even the two dogs greeted us. After taking a tour, I requested my mom to come as respite care. The hardworking staffs treat her and other residents as family. They carefully meet all their daily need, including three homemade meals and snack. Residents are always clean and dressed nicely as well as home kept meticulously clean. My mom has been there for four years now. She spends her days with the same friends sharing meals and activities. I would highly recommend Top of the Hill Manor with its beautiful country atmosphere, tender loving care in a private home setting.
Our mother, Lois Johnson, was a resident at the Top of the Hill from April 2010 to April 2014. She had dementia and had fallen at home. She was in rehab for several weeks and we are told that she required 24-hour care upon release. We met with the owner of Top of the Hill, Benny Calderon, and agreed this was the best placement for our mother. She received excellent care there. She was treated medically, with dignity and respect, like a member of the staffs’ family. We would visit with her at anytime. She spent four years at Top of the Hill until her death in April 2014. The owners, Benny and Maria Calderon, and their staff attended our mother’s funeral services and spoke lovingly of her. We would recommend Top of the Hill to anyone looking for a place to care for their loved ones. The staff have a medical background and are kind and caring.
